OEM vs. aftermarket glass
OEM glass is made by or for your vehicle's manufacturer. Quality aftermarket (OEE) glass is made to the same shape and safety standards by other manufacturers, and often costs less. For many vehicles either is a good choice. For some, especially those with head-up displays or certain camera systems, OEM glass is the safer bet. We'll quote both when both are available and tell you plainly which one we'd put in our own car.
Why the install matters as much as the glass
Your windshield helps the roof resist collapse in a rollover and backs up the passenger airbag when it deploys. That only works if the bond is right. We trim the old urethane to the proper height, treat any bare metal on the pinch weld so it won't rust in salt air, prime, and set the glass on a full, even bead. Then we follow the adhesive's safe drive-away time, which is usually 30 to 60 minutes.
