Why calibration matters
A forward camera is aimed at a precise point on the road. A new windshield can shift that aim by a fraction of a degree, and at highway distances, a fraction of a degree can put the system's view off by a lane. Without calibration, lane-keep can steer at the wrong moment, and automatic braking can react late or not at all. That's why manufacturers require calibration after a windshield replacement.
Static vs. dynamic calibration
Static calibration uses printed targets set at exact distances in front of the vehicle, on level ground. Dynamic calibration is done by driving the vehicle at set speeds on clearly marked roads, and the South Bay has plenty of those. Some vehicles need one method, some need both. We follow the procedure for your year, make and model. If your vehicle needs a controlled indoor setup or a dealer-only procedure, we'll tell you up front and help you arrange it.
