What a repair can and can't do

A good repair restores the strength of the glass and stops the break from spreading. Most chips become much less visible, but a repair rarely makes a chip disappear completely. You'll usually see a faint mark where it was. If the damage is right where the driver looks, or it's already running toward the edge, replacement is the safer fix, and we'll tell you so.
